PTSA STUDENT AWARDS
REFLECTIONS 2011-2012
*ENTRIES DUE TO FORD ELEMENTARY FRONT OFFICE BY OCTOBER 10TH
The 2011-2012 theme is “Diversity Means…”
In its more than 40-year history, the Reflections program has encouraged millions of students across the nation to explore their artistic talents. The program offers all students the opportunity to create works of expression and to be recognized. Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to submit works of art in six areas:
DANCE COREOGRAPHY RULES
FILM PRODUCTION RULES
LITERATURE RULES
MUSICAL COMPOSITION RULES
PHOTOGRAPHY RULES
VISUAL ARTS RULES
GENERAL STUDENT RULES
STUDENTS MUST ADHERE TO ALL RULES WHEN CREATING PROJECTS FOR JUDGING. ALL WORK MUST BE STUDENT GENERATED. THIS WILL DETERMINE PLACEMENT AT LOCAL, COUNTY, STATE, AND NATIONAL LEVELS!!! Please refer to the General Student Participation Rules and specific rules in the area links above.
STUDENT ENTRY FORM
Each entry must be accompanied by a Student Entry Form, completely filled out and signed by the student participant. Students who have not completely filled out the entry form will not be eligible to participate in the program. In situations where the child cannot fill out the entry form or write legibly, a parent may complete the form. Special Artist entry forms are available to students with special needs. Please write your teacher’s name at the top of the entry form. This will help us to get your entry back to you. See links below:

TITLE AND ARTIST STATEMENT
Each participant is required to submit an artist statement that describes what inspired him or her to create the work and how it relates to the theme. The artist statement is mandatory for all entries in all grade divisions. The statement should not exceed 250 characters; there is no minimum length. The Student Entry Form provides a space for the artist statement; if the statement does not fit in the space given, it may be written on a separate sheet and attached to the Student Entry Form. Parents may write words dictated by students who are unable to write.
NOTE: ALL works that have the face or voice of people included on them or in video MUST have a consent form signed by those individuals and added to the entry to be judged. Please see the consent form link below for directions. This is a new mandatory rule for this year!
